In the system, model-specific cut-outs are milled into side sills for a car. One set is always milled together. However, the program also allows only one side to be milled. The milling tool is checked for breakage before and after each operation. The resulting chips are extracted downwards through the component holder. During loading, the correct component position is recorded and the length measured. Changes in length are taken into account in the milling program.
